Next Business Energy is teaming up with Xero to help small businesses take charge of their energy usage and keep finances under control.

Next Business Energy’s NextConnect now integrates with Xero Connect in Australia, a tool that automates the flow of invoices into Xero, saving businesses time, eliminating manual data entry and increasing accuracy.

Combining the power of NextConnect with the Xero Connect integration, Next Business Energy customers using Xero will be able to track their energy use and their costs hand-in-hand. NextConnect is our 24/7 on-demand energy insights portal, providing businesses with access to feedback on energy usage.

Next Business Energy customers using Xero can now opt to export energy bills directly into their Xero account, enabling a seamless application of payments through Xero and allowing customers to check an administrative task off their list.

How the integration works:

  1. Log into your Next Connect account via the Next Business Energy website.
  2. Click ‘Next Connect Portal Login’ and enter your username and password.
  3. Review the terms and conditions.
  4. Click on “Connect to Xero” on the Next Connect home screen.
  5. Login to your Xero account and click “Allow Access” to authorise the transfer of data between your Next Connect account and Xero.
  6. Select the relevant accounts you want your Next Business Energy bills to be coded to
  7. Click “Update Xero”

From this point, your Next Business Energy invoices should automatically flow into Xero as a draft bill ready for approval. A PDF copy of the bill can also be attached.

When the invoice is paid, payment will appear in Xero and match the bill for easy bank reconciliation.

This integration is available to active Xero customers in selected locations across Australia.
